What is Parents as Teachers?
Parents as Teachers (PAT) is a FREE program for any expecting family or family with children up to 3 years of age.
There are four main components of the program: |
| 1. Personalized visits: |
A trained parent educator will meet with you and your child, bringing an educational activity and research-based developmental information, tailored to your child. It is a relaxed atmosphere to ask questions, talk about concerns, and share the joys and frustrations of parenting. |
|
| 2. Playgroups: |
This is an opportunity for your child to interact with others and try new activities, while you can meet other parents in the community. |
|
| 3. Screenings: |
Parents As Teachers offers regular developmental, vision, hearing, dental, and health screenings to reassure you of your child's progress and to help identify potential problems and address them early, before your child gets to school. |
|
| 4. Resource Network: |
PAT provides the information and support to seek assistance and gain knowledge from other sources outside of what the program offers. |
